violinist
Shenghua Hu, a renowned violinist and conductor, is a member of the second violin section of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and serves as conductor of the New York Chamber Orchestra. From 2016 to 2019, he was the principal second violinist of the Met Orchestra. A laureate of international competitions including the Paganini and Sarasate Violin Competitions, Hu received a full scholarship to the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, studying under Kurt Sassmannshaus, and later trained with Albert Markov. He began performing at the age of five and made his concerto debut at nine with the Anhui Symphony Orchestra. Recognized for his expressive playing and technical mastery, Hu has performed on major stages worldwide and remains dedicated to classical music outreach through charity concerts.
