David Geber

Cellist

Cellist David Geber, raised in a family of professional cellists in Los Angeles, holds degrees from the Juilliard School and Eastman School of Music, studying under Claus Adam and Ronald Leonard. A founding member of the American String Quartet, he performed globally for 28 years before focusing on teaching and music administration in 2002. He has been on the Manhattan School of Music faculty since 1984, teaches at prestigious summer programs like Tanglewood, and collaborates with the DeTao Masters Academy in China. An advocate for new music, he has premiered numerous works and recorded extensively. Mr. Geber performs on a rare 1667 G.B. Ruggieri cello.
